Infant mortality rate
From 1969 to 1979 the rate of infants under 28 days old who died went from 17% to 8%. This figure has taken another 30 years to now hover at around 6%. What this means is that in the year I was born there was a 50% decrease in number of children that were saved from mortality. I was one of these children. Perhaps if I was 10 years earlier this would not have been the case?
