The first in a trilogy of films spotlighting the unique culture of northern Minnesota, Pollywogs follows a young man on the heels of a bitter breakup as he returns to his family reunion to make sense of his life. There, he runs into his childhood best friend and first love whom he hasn't seen for 13 years since her family moved to a religious compound.

I have been fascinated with photographing this collection of pine trees from an early age. They were planted in this V shape sometime in the 50's and have grown noticeably in my lifetime. I was very excited to get them on the big screen in Pollywogs.
