After graduating from the prestigious Hibbing High School the late 90’s with such honors as “most likely to become librarian,” Karl Moved to Minneapolis to pursue a career in music, studying at McNally-Smith in the Twin Cities. Leaving this career to pursue computer science for a semester, Karl realized he left his heart on the stage back in Hibbing. After retrieving said heart, he packed his things into a suitcase and hitched his way to New York City.

While in New York, He studied with his now mentor Walt Witcover for an intense 2 years before going on to become fascinated with the art of Improvisation, studying it at Second City NY, Sally Johnson Studio and the Magnet Theater.
